For as long as I can remember, I've had a love for art. As a child I would always doodle on my assignments and spent a lot of time on Flipnote on my DSI, creating characters and admiring other people's art and animations. In middle school I loved drawing characters from my favorite shows, but it wasn't until high school that I decided to put more time and love into art. I surrounded myself with art and other artists, and by my junior year I decided that I wanted to pursue art as a career. I took my first art class in my senior year and fell in love with the environment. It was life changing to be in a room surrounded by other artists, where I can explore different subjects and mediums with others who had the same passion.
This classroom was where I first considered becoming an art teacher. My favorite part about art isn't making my own, but watching others create and grow as an artist. Art is a subject that is so easily overlooked, and I want to be able to teach kids to enjoy art and encourage the children who already love art. I was accepted to CSULB for pre-Illustration, but I switched into Art Education almost immediately. It took me a long time to finally dive into the art world, but I can't wait to see my future in it.
